Meet nutritional needs

The Covid-19 pandemic has had considerable repercussions on the poorest populations, particularly those living in developing countries. Faced with this difficult situation, the Maia Baudelaire Foundation has decided to set up food distributions to help the most disadvantaged families.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Foundation’s food distributions have helped more than 350 families in Khokana, a village near the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu.

The families were selected in collaboration with the local town hall based on criteria such as their income level and vulnerability. These food distributions take place monthly and allow beneficiary families to meet their nutritional needs.

The distributed baskets contain essential products, such as rice, lentils, sugar, flour, biscuits, soap, and toothpaste. These products were chosen based on their shelf life and nutritional value to meet the needs of the most disadvantaged families.

Improve the quality of life …

Food distributions are linked to the Foundation’s other projects, such as the clinic and the school, because the beneficiaries of these distributions also have priority access to healthcare and their children are admitted to the school. By helping the most disadvantaged families meet their nutritional needs, the Maia Baudelaire Foundation contributes to improving the quality of life for local populations and strengthening their resilience in the face of difficulties.

Strengthening the autonomy of populations …

In addition to the food distributions in Khokana, the Maia Baudelaire Foundation also organized food distributions in the village of Douar Laarab, Morocco.

This village, also affected by poverty and the Covid-19 pandemic, has benefited from the Foundation’s help to meet the needs of its inhabitants.

The Maia Baudelaire Foundation is aware that food distribution can only be a temporary solution, and is therefore also working on long-term projects, such as creating local jobs and providing vocational training to promote the autonomy and independence of local populations.

Donation

If you wish to get involved in the projects of the Maia Baudelaire Foundation, you can help the foundation by making a donation.
There are only big hearts, whatever your donation, it makes a difference! Every penny has a positive impact.
Don’t wait any longer, make a donation to the Maïa Baudelaire Foundation according to your means.

In short, the food distributions by the Maia Baudelaire Foundation are an important project to help the most vulnerable populations in the region. This aid is provided regularly and coordinated with the other programs of the Foundation, such as the school and the clinic, in order to create a chain of solidarity and support for the local populations.

A volunteer program …

Finally, through a volunteer program, we give French representatives the opportunity to accompany the children and the teaching staff by offering fun activities and even language courses for the more skilled.

Several volunteers have already been welcomed, with very positive results for both the children and the volunteers in question.
