Projects taking shape

These past few months have been marked by significant progress at the Khokana school. Between innovation, expansion, and memorable moments for the students, here is an overview of the projects coming to life on site.

School expansion : the construction has begun !

After several months of preparation, the school’s expansion work has finally begun! This project, intended to accommodate students up to grade 12 (equivalent to the final year of high school), will notably include biology, chemistry, and computer science classrooms, as well as a brand new sports field!

Each stone laid is a step towards a more promising future for these children. To see this mission through to the end, we need you. A call for donations is being made to finalize this construction and provide the students with the best learning conditions.

End of the year : time for exams and graduation ceremonies

As the year comes to an end in Nepal, the students attended the graduation ceremony, crowning their efforts and commitment. A moment full of emotion, where everyone was able to receive the fruit of their labor under the applause of their classmates, teachers, and families.

Humanitarian freight : artificial intelligence at the heart of learning

A year ago, we shipped about sixty Apple computers from France to provide students with access to digital tools. They were refurbished by us before being shipped on-site.

Today, a new donation of computer equipment, nearly 300 computers, is being delivered. Following the same process as the previous ones, it includes as many laptops as desktops.

With him, an ambition: to offer students a true laboratory dedicated to artificial intelligence.

Innovation : an AI lab for students

n this space, they will be able to explore key concepts, continuing from the already existing « Electronic Learning Class » at the school, in collaboration with the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The aim of this laboratory is to help them familiarize themselves with the computer systems specific to Artificial Intelligence, as well as to discover the workings of these technological tools. Little by little, they will learn the basics of AI and programming, skills that could very well shape their future.

According to us, artificial intelligence is an unavoidable revolution. We want to give the children of Khokana the keys to understand and master these innovations, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.

We are currently looking for volunteers to teach the basics of electronics and/or AI to our students. The details of these proposals can be found on our website.

And then ?

The coming months promise to be just as exciting, with the continuation of the construction, the arrival of new computer equipment, not to mention the multitude of projects, ongoing or upcoming, that are close to our hearts.

Thank you for being by our side in this beautiful adventure. We’ll tell you more very soon!

With all our friendship,
The team of the Maïa Baudelaire Foundation
