Dear friends,
At the beginning of 2025, we are delighted to share with you the progress and highlights that testify to the impact of your generosity. Thanks to you, the Maïa Baudelaire Foundation continues to transform lives and open new perspectives for the children and communities we serve.
A rapidly growing school in Nepal
Extension project (3D image)
In Khokana, the Maïa Academy now welcomes 450 students, and we are proud to announce its expansion to meet the growing needs of the community. This extension, whose construction will begin in February, will accommodate even more students from middle school to high school, providing them not only with a quality education but also with access to nutritious meals and essential medical care for their development.
At the same time, our recently launched dental care program continues to make a real difference. The children benefit from regular check-ups, learning to take care of their health and building a solid foundation for their future.
Create, inspire, transmit
Our two artist residencies have allowed 12 artists to develop new musical creations, now available on major platforms. Among them, the video « Roshi Shyong » has made a mark on the international scene with 11 nominations in 7 festivals, including « Best Original Song » at the Europe Music Video Award and 6 nominations at the California Music Video Award. This exceptional title highlights the cultural richness of Nepal and shares its musical traditions with the world :
The MaïaNāda project, born from this dynamic, fuses traditional Nepali sounds with modern influences, creating a unique dialogue between the past and the present. In partnership with the Ghumante association, this movement supports local artists by offering them opportunities for collaboration and training, while preserving ancestral sounds through documentary projects. Maïa Nada’s international productions celebrate cultural diversity while inspiring a new generation to value their heritage with boldness and creativity.
A technological bridge for education
A successful computer collection; at the beginning of the month, we conducted an exceptional operation in partnership with C&S, an Apple retailer based in Nice. This initiative allowed us to collect over 300 computers, including MacBooks and iMacs. These devices are currently being refurbished by our teams and will be sent to the Maïa Academy in Nepal, where they will equip the classrooms. These devices will provide students with direct access to technology, allowing them to develop essential skills for the future.
An evening rich in exchanges
The foundations sheltered by the Fondation de France On January 16, we attended the annual evening of sheltered foundations, organized by the Fondation de France at the Chaillot Theater in Paris.
It was a unique opportunity to share our projects with other foundations and explore new avenues of collaboration. The discussions around artificial intelligence, in particular, highlighted the importance of integrating this technology into educational programs to stimulate children’s creativity and curiosity.
The future is being written thanks to your support.
With your support, we continue to build a promising future for the children. The expansion of the school, innovative educational programs, and new collaborations are a testament to what we can achieve together. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and commitment. Let’s continue transforming lives together
With all our gratitude,
The team at the Maïa Baudelaire Foundation
